Shootout.net covers the Great Alaska Shootout

The Department of Journalism and Public Communications is offering wire-to-wire coverage of the Great Alaska Shootout, the annual basketball tournament held in Anchorage over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Shootout.net began as a multimedia website in 1998. It relies on JPC students to cover the tournament, which has brought the Division I basketball teams to play UAA men’s and women’s teams in a great holiday tradition.
The Great Alaska Shootout began in 1978 with the men’s tournament and since expanded to include a women’s bracket. Past Shootout tournament winners include the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and the Duke University Blue Devils.
Shootout.net works cooperatively with The Northern Light and KRUA FM-88.1. Check out The Northern Light’s Twitter feed and KRUA’s Twitter feed.
